Do you have a favorite song? A meaningful poem? Special nicknames? A card that one of you wrote to the other? Your ceremony can incorporate all of these things, making it as unique as your relationship.
Bring your grandmother’s lace hankie, that lucky penny you’ve had since you were eight, or the earrings he bought for you on your first date. Stop at the Harley-Davidson dealership in Sturgis (see Helpful Links) or Rapid City and pick up just the right vest, bandana, or boots. Rig out your bike with “Just Married” signs, bells, ribbons, and cans!
In my family, we have a tradition of cutting the wedding cake with my grandfather’s saber! If it will add to the richness and meaning of your day (and if it will fit in the saddlebags), bring it along!
Attire for rally weddings varies widely and wildly! Whatever is your heart’s desire will be perfect. I’ve seen everything from traditional, floor-length wedding gowns (paired with Harley flame-colored boots) to leathers to t-shirts and shorts. For photos of examples, see our Wedding Attire page. If you want to wear a tux, visit Audra’s Bridal Gallery in Rapid City (see Helpful Links). Audra, Karman, and the staff will take good care of you.
For couples who choose to have flowers, anything from silk to wildflowers to floral arrangements works. (I recommend Victoria’s Garden in Rapid City for stunning and unusual bouquets.)
If you would like to have professional photographs taken of your special day, check out our Helpful Links. Several excellent photographers are recommended there.
